Our mission

Our mission is to make the real cost and privacy trade-offs of AI coding tools legible — so a small team can choose its infrastructure on the merits, not on marketing. We give self-hosted and open-weight options the same serious treatment the big managed APIs get everywhere else, and we put a free, no-sign-up calculator in front of the decision so the numbers are yours, not a vendor's.

What we cover

We focus on AI coding tools through a specific lens: self-hosted and privacy-first options, and concrete cost engineering for teams that actually pay the bills. Where most coverage chases the biggest managed APIs, we give open-weight and on-prem setups equal, serious treatment.

How we stay independent

The site is reader-supported through recurring affiliate partnerships and, on informational pages, advertising. None of that changes a verdict. Pricing in the calculator is verified against each provider's own page and dated; affiliate links are marked.
